2026 Offseason Clock

How these dates were figured out:
  • The Roster + Franchise Tag Deadline is the first one up. Rule 6.12 says it should land a full week before the draft, but being the gracious Commissioner I am, we extended it to the Wednesday before, at midnight Central. You are welcome.
  • The Rookie/FA Draft date and time come straight from the league's Sleeper draft room, scheduled around the availability of high maintenance diva champion Levon.
  • The Contract Deadline follows Rule 6.07: contracts are due by the first NFL regular season game after the draft. The 2026 season opens on Wednesday, September 9 (the league opens on a Wednesday this year instead of the usual Thursday), so the deadline lands on a Wednesday too, at 5:00 PM Central on kickoff day.
  • The Trade Deadline has landed on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving every year on record (11/22/23, 11/27/24, 11/26/25). In 2026 that is November 25.
What Happens to Expiring Players

Two different situations, two different deadlines. No number next to his name means he is purged off your roster before this year's draft unless you extend him at 2:1, franchise tag him, or trade him by Wednesday, September 2. A 0 means you keep him for all of 2026 and he walks after that. Everything left untouched drops into the Rookie/FA draft pool on September 5.
